SRI LANKA Law Work Experience Internship in Negombo Beach
LAW WORK EXPERIENCE INTERNSHIP IN NEGOMBO IN SRI LANKA

Accommodation included Food included
No qualifications required

Intern in a small practice in Negombo (5 lawyers), which means you'll gain experience across all areas of law. The variety will be greater than you would be exposed to in a big practice.

There are three Courts in Negombo and proceedings in two of them are conducted in English. You'll have opportunity to attend both 'English-language' Courts and well as assisting in other duties, such as drafting legal documents, in the office.

Sri Lankan law is based upon two legal systems - 95% of Sri Lankan criminal law is based on the British Legal system, the other 5% of their criminal law is based on South African law.

No qualifications required to do this Internship.

“After graduating with a law degree, I did a Travellers internship with a commercial law firm in Argentina in order to gain more legal work experience. I researched legal issues, drafted contracts and attended client meetings. I had to work both on my own initiative and in a team.

The placement allowed me to make an informed decision about my career - to work in the public legal sector, rather than for a private law firm. Next week I start my new job in the Legal Services section of a successful County Council.

I genuinely believe that my gap year experience helped to make me a more attractive candidate because of the transferable skills I developed, such as being adaptable, problem solving and learning vital communication skills.” Lucy Keenan, Argentina
